The Brief

Work was needed to raise the profile of the hotel. With a small, loyal following of repeat guests, Talland Bay Hotel was failing to attract new leisure customers, crucial for the shoulder and low season. Locals and holiday makers were also relatively unaware of the excellent F&B offering.

Our Solution

The digital marketing campaign set out to deliver a holistic approach to content, with monthly blogs supported by targeted Facebook ads, the introduction of regular customer e-newsletters and building an engaged community on Instagram.

Blog articles focused on raising the profile of the hotel whilst associating it with searchable topics including events and activities around South East Cornwall, fine Cornish food and best dog-friendly beaches. The blogs were promoted through Facebook ads to receptive audiences, driving traffic to the Talland Bay Hotel website. This in turn increased user time on site, contributing to the hotel website climbing the Google rankings and featuring on page one for organic search.

A crucial strategy to the social media campaign was tapping into the hotel’s loyal fanbase. Huge engagement was created by sharing all page posts to an audience of past guests who matched with Facebook and Instagram profiles, generating social proof and increasing organic reach.

New audiences were encouraged to sign up to the newsletter where they would be the first to hear of announcements and made to feel part of the hotel family.

As well as promoting leisure packages, seasonal campaigns were used to specifically target locals and holidaymakers with messaging around the dining: afternoon teas, Sunday roasts and winter specials.
