The Talland Bay Hotel at Porthallow in south Cornwall is inviting diners to extend the summer with a decadent afternoon tea al fresco in their new private dining pavilion. Set on the pine-fringed lawns with unrivalled views out over the ocean, the redwood gazebo is the ideal spot for taking tea in comfort as the days draw in.
The new space is available for private parties throughout September and October. The gardens of this luxury, coastal retreat provide a magical backdrop, from the wire-framed fairies to the eye-catching art and lawns stretching down towards the cliff’s edge and the sea.
The private dining pavilion is available for parties of up to ten (minimum two) to enjoy the hotel’s signature Afternoon Tea with delicate finger sandwiches, scones, Rhodda’s clotted cream and homemade strawberry conserve along with home baked cakes for £18 per person. Add a glass of Tarquin’s dry gin and tonic for £23 per person or for a truly special occasion make it a Luxury Bubbles Afternoon Tea including a glass of Louis Roederer Champagne at £30 per person. Plus a £10 per person charge for the exclusive use of the pavilion.
Diners can also opt to take afternoon tea or lunch in the hotel’s sunny Conservatory or enjoy fine-dining in the two AA-Rosette Terrace Restaurant.
Why not enjoy a Talland Bay Escape and savour the very best of the Cornish coast this season, a two-night break costs from £190 per room per night: Tackle the coast path, cosy up in front of the fire in the inviting lounge and indulge in the finest and freshest ingredients served up by head chef Nick Hawke and his talented team. The gourmet escape includes two dining options for the ultimate taste of Talland Bay; dinner on the first night in the Conservatory restaurant from the classic Lounge Menu, then a deliciously decadent five-course tasting menu in the fine-dining Terrace restaurant on the second night.
